Interior design, Godalming, Surrey
This interior design project was especially rewarding for me. A dear friend was planning a fresh start in life and downsizing to a new home in Godalming, Surrey; and one of her challenges was how to integrate some of her existing furniture into a smaller space.
Downsizing has an emotional aspect and requires empathy and experience when dealing with cherished items. My friend and client was able to benefit from my professional interior design expertise within a familiar, trusting relationship. With a clear vision on how she wanted to live in her new space, we joyfully collaborated on creating these wonderful interiors that celebrate new beginnings while honouring her treasured pieces.
Interior design with tranquillity and texture
This lounge is a serene yet uplifting space, anchored by handmade satin-soft blue roman blinds paired with complementary beige banding. Handpicked scatter cushions in a modern interpretation of ikat fabric add layers of personality. Natural light floods the room, illuminating the antique pieces, which we carefully re-positioned to give them renewed prominence. A feature wallpaper adds depth and character, while our signature hydrangea silk flowers have a timeless elegance. Playful colours, tones, and textures reflect the lively energy of the local area, creating a room that feels both welcoming and refined.
Cheery and charming design
This nook is designed to be irresistibly inviting. Warm coral tones in linen textures set the mood, while a wide striped linen fabric on the sofa adds casual sophistication. Colour-blocked linen cushions and a Turkish coral throw complete the look, making this the ideal spot to unwind with a magazine on a weekend morning.
Impressively tasteful
Leading seamlessly from the breakfast nook, the dining room brims with character. We re-upholstered and re-painted our client’s existing dining chairs, breathing new life into them while preserving their sentimental value. A silk flower arrangement dominated by fresh green hues enlivens the space, adding a sense of vibrancy and balance.
A playful pattern and palette
Bold, bright, and unapologetically playful, this cloakroom makes a big impact. The sunny palette, round cluster of mirrors, and chartreuse fretwork wallpaper prove that small spaces are the perfect canvas for a daring design.
This Studio G Interior Design project showcases our expertise in optimising space and art of blending sentimental items with enduring staples. By striking the right balance, this interior design is fresh, personal, and timeless. These are spaces that will stand the test of time without ever feeling plain or predictable.
